There are few places on this earth more famous than the Bonneville salt flats. The surreal, snow-white, dry -lake bed has played host to the Southern California Timing association’s Speed Week as well as a handful of other land-speed racing events since 1948. In that time its smooth and beckoning racing surface has seen the setting and resetting of countless top speed records through the decade. 2017 marks the 69th running of the event and the enthusiasm among racers and spectators hasn’t wavered an ounce.
