1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 – Top Of The Heap

1970 was a great year for muscle cars. It happened to be the last year for high compression V8 engines for all GM cars due to the upcoming 1972 unleaded fuel mandate. Even though 1970 was a pinnacle year for muscle car perform, the Buick GS equipped with the Stage 1 455 cubic inch V8 was at the top of the heap. 1970 was indeed the year when Buick showed the best muscle cars who was really boss.

  1. At the very least it ranks right along side the 70 Chevelle SS 454. And that is saying a lot.

    1. Hemi cars should be mentioned also. Cuda’s, Challengers and Road Runnner’s. All rocked.

  2. This Is great.either all original or restored back to factory mods.right down to the polyglass tires.this is what purest love and enjoy the most, an unmolested classic

  3. I drove a 1969 GS 400 Stage I for 10 years, wish I had kept it.

  4. When I was 17 in 1974 I had a 70 455-4speed rag top. It was Sherwood green with a white rag top!!!!!!!!! With air!!!! I really miss that car!!!!!!!:-(

  5. Chris Harrison please the W30 and W31 packages which sometimes accompany the Olds 442 and Buick GS, Stage 1, GSXs….
