Speeding car seen in viral video causing chain-reaction crash

A vehicle seen on dash-cam footage striking a BMW — sending that vehicle under a tractor-trailer along the 10 Freeway in Colton — has been recovered, California Highway Patrol officers said Friday.

“A citizen saw it on social media, recognized the vehicle, alerted us to where the vehicle was located (Friday morning) in the city of San Bernardino and we recovered the vehicle,” said Sgt. Joe Corney with the CHP. “However, the driver fled.”

The Infiniti seen striking the BMW on Wednesday afternoon had been reported stolen, Corney said. Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver.

“We’re working leads to arrest him,” he said, but would not provide a name of the suspect.

The driver of the Infiniti can be seen on the now-viral video speeding along the freeway and trying to squeeze between the tractor trailer and the BMW. He strikes the dark BMW, which then swerved under the tractor trailer. The BMW then hit a green Mazda.

The truck dragged the BMW for several yards before it stopped. The driver of the BMW was not seriously injured.

Both the Infiniti and the Mazda that was struck by BMW fled the scene, according to CHP news release.

Are CNC-Ported Cylinder Heads Worth the Money?

Topping your engine with a set of aftermarket cylinder heads is a near-certain method for making more horsepower and torque—but is the extra power really worth the money? In this episode of Engine Masters presented by AMSOIL, we answer that question for people who are running a typical street-cruising small-block Chevy V8. We start with a very common, 440horsepower, 383ci stroker engine using production Chevy Vortec iron cylinder heads and swap them out for a set of CNC-ported aluminum heads. Naturally, they make more power at nearly every single point in the power curve, so you’ll have to watch the video and see the full graph to decide if this is an upgrade that’s worth it for you.
