2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs. 2017 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R – Head 2 Head Ep. 90

these. In the white corner sits the most powerful Camaro ever. Kicking out a stonking 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, the supercharged Camaro is capable of both humbling supercars and the greatest burnouts we’ve ever seen. The Shelby is down on power but is up on magic. Also able to embarrass cars costing two or three (or four/five) times as much, the GT350R has something special going on. Which of these two performance giants is the current king of the ponycar?

  1. This started out biased with not liking the color they used in the test .These guys down played every thing the camaro beat the mustang at . They just like the ford better because they work for a mag that plays to ford products

  2. Stang gets the poontang. Most Camaro guys would rather play videogames.

  3. It ended like it should of we need to be fair it needs to be the gt500 then we’ll see, they take hottest Camarillo against the third or forth hottest mustang

  4. 50 years but camaro hasn’t been there that long…Only Mustang

    1. First Camaro was built in 1967! My math sucks but I believe that makes 2017 the 50th year! Still you’re kind of right because I think Chevy quite building Camaros for a couple of years???? but then again the battle was still going on.

    2. Uh, remember the break in production? That’s when they DIDN’T MAKE CAMARO’s for years!

    3. How can they compare a supercharged car to a naturally aspirated engine. Let’s put a pro charger on the Mustang then see who talks trash

    4. John Hart I mentioned that, and that doesn’t mean that people stopped comparing Mustangs and Camaros. Also it’s STILL 50 years, it doesn’t say 50 years of comaprisons it just says 50 years!

    5. Randy Ford The same way you compare a twin cam to a push rod motor

  5. Chevrolet Camero all day every day… no Fords allowed …. not even free ones…. allowed in my barn …. Thank You very much

  6. I was looking at the corvette Z06 Z07 package, Camero ZL1, both hellcats and the GT350. The decision was extremely easy after checking out each car. The Dodge dealer said it best. “The hellcat and ZL1 are really cool, but the GT350 is special. That flat plane crank engine is crazy fun! N/A, 8250 rpm redline. But you can’t go wrong with any of those cars!

Here’s mine next to my fathers F12. Two best sounding cars on earth IMO.

    1. 😂 that flat plane crank will give you problems have fun rebuilding your engine multiple times in 10 years or so. Flat plane cranks are not for every day driving.

    2. The longevity testing says otherwise. Ferrari seems to make it work. Anyone can slap a low compression low revving supercharged engine in something and call it cool. And even if it does cause issues down the road, just gives me an excuse to make it faster. If your looking for absolute reliability have fun driving your Honda Accord!

  7. Camaro was always my first choice. But I’ve gotta say I like the new mustang too.

  8. Personally I just always liked the Mustang body style so I’d pick the Mustang!

  9. Car and driver mag. Did a comparison and pound for pound , dollar for dollar Shelby wins . hands down . but I am a Mustang kinda guy

  10. I rented a camaro it may be faster but what a pile of shit I barely beat it and it was falling apart when I returned it car with 2000miles literally had things falling off and the ck engine light was on.
