Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Tribute-1968 images

The 1968 Oldsmobile 442 with the W-30 option is like the superhero of muscle cars—under the hood, it swaps its standard bronze-copper block for a chrome-topped, double-snorkeled air cleaner, ready to suck in air like it’s going out of style. This model marks the debut of side marker lights and a bittersweet farewell to side vent windows. It’s like the car can’t decide if it’s a freshman or a senior! The standard block on the 1968 4-4-2 is a bronze-copper color with a fire-engine red air cleaner, unless its with the W-30 option. The same block with the W-30 has a chrome topped double snorkeled black air cleaner sporting two downward oriented black intake hoses connected to the under-bumper twin air scoops. The ’68 Olds is the first year with side maker lights and the last year with side vent windows.
