Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1970 images
The Oldsmobile Cutlass was available in seven body styles for the 1970 model year, beginning with the entry level F-85 two door sedan. Two door and four door hardtops are also on the options list and could be had with the convetional notch back or a little more sporty looking fastback design, There is also a convertible available and two station wagons, the Custom Cruiser and the Vista Cruiser are also listed. The 4-4-2 is now powered by the Rocket 455 as standard equipment,n with the older 400 engine dropped entirely. All SX models would also be equipped with the 455 and coupled to the TH-400 automatic. There are the same three and four speed manual transmissions offered and these are equipped with the floor mounted Hurst shifter. There is no longer a two speed automatic offered, leaving only the three speed turbo-Hydramatic. If you chose the strato bucket seats for your new Cutlass “S” coupe you could also have it equipped with an extra-cost center console. making the Hurst Dual Gate or the “his & her” shifter. The Dual Gate alows the operator to drive the car as an automatic or put in manual shift mode.
