The Oldsmobile Toronado for 1966 is the first American made car to have front wheel drive since the pre WWII Cord. The only transmission available for the Toronado is the TH425 Turbo-Hydramatic three speed automatic which shares many of the same components as its RWD counterpart the TH400. The base engine is the 425 cu in (7.0 L) Rocket V8 developing 385 hp (287 kW) or the power option is the 455 cu in (7.5 L) Rocket producing 400 hp (300 kW).
