Ultra Rare Camaro ZL1 vs L88 Corvette – 1/4 Mile Drag Race Video – Road Test TV
1/4 mile drag race between a very rare 1969 ZL1 Camaro with an all aluminum 427 engine and a rare 1969 L88 427 Corvette. The ZL1 Camaro is 1 of 69 built in 1969 and the L88 is 1 of 116 1969 L88 Corvettes.

LOL ZL1 owner was watching the Vette instead of the light! Clearly the camaro driver ( if both were stock) doesn’t know how to drag race. I couldn’t tell by listening but he “may have been double clutch shifting?????” LOL The times should have been almost bang on even and the 4- 5mph difference isn’t a good “sign, that Camaro wasn’t “launched right!
Most people don’t know how to stage. And you are never racing the other car. you are racing your dialed in ETA.
The actual times at the end were so close that the fact that the yelloows appeared to be moving down at the same time isn’t much help but these guys appeared to be running heads up ( like all the other vids I watched this morning) and there were no “time numbers” on the windows. Plus the Vette driver left the line in one race ( on this vid or another?) with his driver’s side window rolled down which NO sanctioned drag race would allow. I now about “dial in racing” I raced a stock Suzuki 1150 motorcycle years ago ( faster than every car I watched on here this morning and I weighed 250-260 lbs at the time. I just love heads up with relatively stock and similar performing cars.I liked the heads up for time runs more than the actual dial in racing.
I thought the vetted would win.
Cool video
