1970 was the pinnacle of the original muscle car era. Horsepower ratings had soared to ridiculous levels. No muscle car had a higher on paper rating than the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 454. It was rated a whopping 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. My dad bought my 2 brothers 2 1970 SS396 with 350 hp. The SS’S also came out with 2 454 that year 1 had 365hp and the other 1 LS6 HAD 450HP. Do your research before you start texting crapp! Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU

LS7 Rare aluminum 454.
LS-7 wasnt aluminum , wasnt much differant than the LS-6 plus it never went into production , was sold over the counter as a GM crate engine
Has aluminum heads. Some were sold by dealers. I worked at Aiken Chevrolet.
Like cross ram 302 it was a dealer option. But some come off truck to lot.
I should of said Aluminum Heads.
Either way still never went into production , was sapose to go into 70 Corvette but never happend for Insurance reasons
