Pontiac Trans Am 1979 images

There were 116,535 Trans AM units produced in 1979 and is the highest procuction year ever for the model. Until the’79  model year, a Trans-Am high out put 400 engine could develop almost the same power as units built before 1970 by simply removing both the catalytic converter and the hood scoop’s backer plate. This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am is powered by a 400 CID (6.6L) V8 coupled to a 4-Speed manual transmission.
