Racing in the street: Tallahassee’s drag strip era
Drag racing, once banished to lonely country roads with spectators dressed in leather and denim, began to come into its own in the mid-1960s. While dangerous and unlawful races were still being conducted on then remote streets like Mission Road, a sanctioned drag strip was built on west Highway 20 in Leon County.

I used to street race back in the day, the 90’s
We had a lot of country roads back in the 60’s and 70’s that we used. Miss those days! Didn’t have to drive far to get there. Good times.
