The Buick Skylark GS California Edition was produced from 1967 though 1969. The intent of these cars was to capture the look of the very popular muscle cars of the time, but at a more consumer friendly (lower) price, while still delivering a reasonable level of performance. The California Edition Skylark did a superb job of mimicing a true muscle car on all counts.Tom McCahill, tested a factory equipped 1969 Skylark GS California edition from 0-60 (97 km/h) in 9.7 seconds attaining a top speed of 110 mph (177 km/h)  in the process. The engine is a 350 four barrel coupled to the new 350 Turbo automatic transmission
