The 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 is like the mid-sized superhero of vintage cars, sporting a 371 cu in Rocket V8 engine. With its two-barrel carb, it flexes 265 hp, but slap on a four-barrel, and it’s ready to show off with 300 hp. For those who believe in over-the-top power, the Super 88’s 394 CID Rocket V8 packs a punch at 315 hp. The Super 88 tops off the mid-sized list with a 394 CID Rocket V8 under the hood and with the four barrel it is rated at  315 hp (235 kW).  The basic Dynamic 88 engine is a 371 cu in Rocket V8 mounted with a two barrel carb. puts out 265 hp (198 kW), but if you opted for a 4- barrel version-the 371 would put out 300 hp (220 kW)
