Original Stock Car: 1966 Coronet
This is a 1966 Dodge Coronet 440, and it’s as stock as they come. We’re talking drum brakes, 14-inch steel wheels with bias ply tires and a bench seat that was made for drive-in movies. I found this beauty at a local car show and instantly fell in love with it, because it reminded me of an old moonshine or getaway car that you’d see in any number of b-movies made in the 1970‘s. This car is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and hot damn if it wasn’t exactly what we ordered.

The wing on this car is made out of a tin roof from an old barn and it's powered by a ford big block on a tube chassie, that's a pretty cool combination! Keeping the car in a rat style look just gives it more personality. It might not be the fastest, nor the prettiest, but we love it!

The Nova SS standard equipment is a 194 cu in inline six cylinder engine, but the full arsenal of Chevrolet large and small blocks is available for the Nova SS. The Base SS version would cost just $159.00 more than the entry level 400 version in 1966.

I love that car, looks a lot like mine. The original engine must have been a 383 2-brl as it has the same “V-8” tags as my 318. That’s for the flash back Kelly.
