CHEVY SUCK! Heres a song send to all your chevy friends :-)

Chevy and Ford owners have been trading friendly insults since long before group chats made it easy, and the rivalry behind this video goes back further than most fans realize. It traces to 1964, when the Mustang caught Chevrolet flat-footed and forced the Camaro into existence. Heres where the century-old feud actually started.

Every gearhead has that one friend who cant resist forwarding a diss track the second a new one drops, and if youve ever caught grief for parking a Bowtie in the wrong driveway, you already know exactly how this one starts. Chevy and Ford owners have been trading good-natured insults since long before group chats made it easy to fire off a jab in three seconds flat. The sniping goes back further than most fans realize, rooted in a genuine on-track rivalry that reshaped what both companies built under the hood. So what actually kicked off nearly a century of this brand loyalty, and why does a simple two-word jab still land the same way it did decades ago?

A Rivalry Older Than Either Companys Muscle Cars

Ford and Chevrolets feud predates the muscle car era by more than half a century. Henry Ford founded his company in 1903, and Chevrolet followed in 1911 under Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant, and the two brands have been fighting for sales, innovation, and bragging rights ever since. That long runway matters, because by the time the 1960s rolled around, the competition wasnt a marketing gimmick, it was a decades-deep habit baked into how each company approached engineering.

The 1960s Escalation That Started It All

The rivalrys most explosive chapter opened in 1964, when Fords new Mustang became an instant sales phenomenon that caught Chevrolet flat-footed. After a failed answer with the turbocharged Corvair, Chevrolet regrouped and fired back with the Camaro for the 1967 model year, leaning on its small-block V8 to give buyers a genuine performance alternative. That one-two punch of Mustang versus Camaro set the tone for the muscle car wars that followed, pitting engine displacement, quarter-mile times, and dealership loyalty against each other for the rest of the decade.

Why the Trash Talk Still Works Today

Brand tribalism like this rarely fades once it takes hold, and Ford versus Chevy is proof. It shows up in NASCAR rivalries, dealership signage, and yes, in the kind of forwarded video that started this whole post. Every jab keeps a century-old argument alive, and neither side seems interested in a truce anytime soon.
