Tesla Electric enter 2013 “S” Sedan muscle Roadster from 2006

Can an automobile powered by only electricity be a muscle car? The 2013 Tesla most powerful version puts out 416 hp and delivers 443 ft-lb of torque propelling you from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds with the 85 kWh battery pack while the lesser model with the same battery pack produces 362 hp with 325 ft-lb of torque will do 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Like internal combustion engines there are three power or battery pack variations as well. The entry level has a 40 kWh battery and will provide 160 mile range between charges with the 60 kWh model has a 230 mile range between recharging. The discontinued lighter weight Roadster was quicker, slightly longer range, and much more expensive but there will be new developments in the near future.

The basic price for 2013 is $49,900.00 and the highest performance model can be had for $84,900.00 after the $7,500.00 tax rebate is received. That does sound a bit high end until you consider that the fuel costs are nil. The Tesla luxury sedan can seat up to seven passengers-five in the roomy cabin and the rear facing jump seat is suitable for two children or can also be used for storage. With the battery pack and electric motor stashed under the floor boards there is still more storage space under the hood where a conventional fossil fuel vehicle would have the engine.

The newest Tesla sedan is much different than the older roadster that has to alter the design to fit an existing chassis. The model “S” Fastback sedan is now on its own platform and it is designed with consumer styling needs in mind making the first of the new generation a practical family car. The car sports a flawless body design and then when you push the door button-it opens automatically revealing the spacious well laid out, luxuriously appointed interior.

    1. Mark-the writings on the wall
This is the future-the electric motor is able to produce more horse power and can have higher torque than any of the internal combustion engines ever made-the fossil fuel engine is in its last days and will soon be a collectors item and a museum piece. Within the next ten years people will be salvaging electric motors and refitting them to their vintage bodies.
