If you order the SS with a six speed automatic transmission-the power plant is a newly designed variation of the LS3 engine-the GM L99 producing 400 hp (300 kW) at 5,900 rpm and developing 410 lb-ft (560 N-m) of torque at 4,300 rpm. The automatic version comes equipped with the “Active Fuel Management” system allowing the preservation of fuel while driving at highway speeds by only running on four cylinders.

Other basic goodies include six standard equipment air bags, a four wheel fully independent suspension, variable rate power steering, four wheel disc brakes, and the electronic SabiliTrak stability/traction control system on all models. The SS versions are equipped with Brembo four piston calipers with launch control as a standard feature on the SS standard transmission. Any LT or SS model has the RS appearance package as an available option which includes HID headlights with halo rings, special tail lights, spoiler, sport wheels, with several color options for the stripping.

Yes, the Camaro is back for 2010 but the engineering and revisions are still ongoing. The Camaro concept in black is powered by a 3.6 Liter (220 cu in) V6 putting out 304 bhp (227 kW). This prototype features HID headlights with halo rings a dark grill, tinted glass, black matt finished hood, with a black interior, and sits on dark colored 21 inch wheels.

COPO is synonymous with performance and this inspired the Camaro LS7 concept vehicle which also has a somewhat 60’s retro look. This version has been years in the engineering stages culminating in the LS7 for 2010. The track proven LS7 is a 7.0 Liter V8 engine producing 550 bhp (410 kW) of power. This is a greatly modified LS3 power plant attached to the Tremec six speed manual transmission with a Hurst short throw shift kit. The race tuned camshaft, the headers with upgraded exhaust system are all from GM’.s power arsenal of COPO racing equipment. The car is painted in “Victory Red” with black matt accents. The LS7 badging, also with red accents, are prominent on the grill, light panel, and the hood cowling with the body sitting low to the ground but on 20 inch wheels. The interior is also in victory red, seats, flooring, headliner, door panels, and the dash. All the features that might normally be chromed or brushed aluminum in lesser models are gloss black in this version like the shift stick, steering wheel trim, and the console gauge clusters.

The 2012 model year saw a very limited edition of 69 units of the COPO Camaro produced-most to race in the super stock class of NHRA Drag Facing. The Camaro is the Chev of choice for almost every GM team in NASCAR events for 2013.

Camaro is the pace car for the Indy 500 in 2009, ‘10 and ’11. The Camaro also paced at Daytona, Watkins Glen, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Mosport, Canada as well as putting in a yearly appearance for the IMSA GT Series.
