Lou Costabile gets a first-production 2017 Ford GT walkthrough from Ford’s Jim Owens at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, tracing the supercar’s design straight back to the GT40’s Le Mans wins over Ferrari. Form follows function isn’t a slogan here — it’s literally how the car was engineered. See why Ford built its most extreme car in decades.

Let this sink in for a moment: Ford‘s bonkers GT supercar actually makes less horsepower than a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. It’s true; the numbers don’t lie. A Camaro ZL1 leaves the factory with 650 horsepower […]

This widebody 1973 De Tomaso Pantera hides a real double-take, a genuine Ford GT nose grafted onto an Italian mid-engine body already powered by a Ford 351 Cleveland V8. The Pantera actually sold through American Lincoln-Mercury dealerships back in the day, making this mashup less strange than it first appears. Take a closer look at a build that blends two very different eras of Ford performance.

Carroll Shelby, the mastermind behind the iconic Shelby muscle cars, transformed the automotive world with his genius. From the sleek AC Cobra to the roaring Shelby Mustangs, he left tire tracks that are still followed today. Despite health challenges, Shelby’s passion never idled. His creations with Ford and Dodge, like the Viper and GT500, proved that horsepower and humor go hand in hand. Shelby’s legacy lives on, revving engines and hearts alike.

Chuck Rust looked at America’s uneven history with mid-engine sports cars — brilliant with the GT40, underwhelming with the Fiero — and decided the answer was hiding in a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Crown. Converted to house a V8 in a mid-engine layout with an owner-built paint job to match, the result is a car its creators compare directly to a Porsche Cayman. Watch to see whether a Corvair can really earn that comparison.

Randy Smalley has owned his 2017 Ford GT since it was new, one of fewer than 1,350 examples Ford built with a twin-turbo V6 instead of the V8 or V10 purists expected. Lou Costabile sits down with Smalley in Florida to hear the real ownership story, straight from a buyer Ford actually selected to own one. Hear what living with a modern icon is really like.

Karl Brauer doesn’t just review the Ford GT — he owns a 2005 model, which makes his head-to-head against the all-new 2017 version personal in a way most comparisons never are. Twelve years separate a supercharged V8 tribute to Le Mans history and a twin-turbo carbon-fiber successor built for a completely different era. Styling, performance, and long-term value all get weighed by someone with real money on the line. Watch to see which GT Brauer says is the smarter buy today.

Randy Smalley has owned his white 2005 Ford GT with blue stripes since it was new, and unlike a lot of owners who’ve kept their GTs parked as investments, he actually drives his. Lou Costabile caught up with him in the suburbs of Mesa, Arizona for a ride-along in what many Ford enthusiasts still call the best-looking car the company has ever built. Two decades on, this modern GT40 tribute is only becoming rarer to see used the way it was designed to be. Watch the full ride-along.

A Ford GT — Ford’s 200-mph, GT40-inspired supercar — weaving through traffic with police in pursuit is exactly the kind of scene that stops your thumb mid-scroll, and more than 21 million people have proven it. The clip comes from Rob Ferretti’s “Super Speeders 3 – On the Run,” known for footage that rides the edge between spectacle and consequence. Watch to see how the chase unfolds.

Ford engineers are out testing the next step in performance for the sixth-generation Mustang: the Shelby GT500. The new model will fill the void left by the previous generation’s Shelby GT500 and is confirmed for […]

Two American exotics, both pushed far past the factory, line up for one of the event’s best runs: a Ford GT quoted at 1,200 horsepower from twin turbos, a supercharger, and nitrous, against a supercharged-and-sprayed Viper making a claimed 1,050. At these levels it is less about who has more power and more about who can actually put it down. Watch the two heavyweights trade blows and see whose recipe wins.

In 2005, Dodge, Ford, and Chevrolet each put their best American performance car on the market at the same time, and Edmunds had the foresight to test all three back to back before history assigned them their collector status. The Viper, the GT, and the Corvette represent three completely different philosophies about what an American sports car should be, and the comparison that resulted remains one of the most revealing pieces of automotive journalism from the era. Watch to see which one came out on top.

For decades, the 25-color Paint Chip Cuda existed only as an illustration in a 1970 Plymouth brochure, born from a color war where Mustang offered 15 shades and Camaro 18, and Plymouth answered with 25. Collector Tim Wellborn remembered that illustration from his youth and, in 2016, tracked down a real numbers-matching Cuda in a New Orleans warehouse to finally bring it to life. The result looks like two different muscle cars sharing one body.

Ford received more than 6,800 applications for just 500 build slots on the new Ford GT, and it hand-selected every buyer. Jay Leno’s history with Ford’s original 2005 GT helped make his case, and when his ,000 Shadow Black and Competition Orange car finally showed up, he unveiled it himself, camera in hand.
